Superintendent for Civil and Mechanical Construction Projects

Location: East Bay/ San Jose

We are seeking motivated candidates to fulfill the role of Superintendent for complex civil and mechanical construction projects in the Norcal California area. This role involves working on heavy civil, transportation, water, and wastewater projects. Initially, the position will be for an active Lightrail project

Position Overview

This position requires a well-organized, detail-oriented individual who can interpret plans and specifications, analyze and recommend solutions to issues on projects with varying degrees of complexity, and supervise the field construction aspects from start-up to completion. The individual will lead and plan field work to ensure a safe and successful project and will report to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Crew Management: Plan, organize, and manage crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and resources.

• Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure safety, quality, and schedule commitments are maintained.

• Coordination: Coordinate with project office engineers and owner representatives.

• Operations Meetings: Attend operations meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of work-related experience, including at least two years of experience working on wastewater treatment plant projects, and at least five years of experience supervising others as a superintendent.

• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate (verbal & written) effectively with internal and external team members and stakeholders.

• Technical Knowledge: Job-related technical knowledge necessary to fulfill the role.

• Computer Skills: Basic computer and software skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, Teams, HCSS, and Outlook.

• Time Management: Effective time management and prioritization skills.
